Anxiety, Stress, & Depression
Anxiety and depression can blanket life in some of the most difficult ways. Confusion, sadness, numbness, anger, and shame are close cousins. We can no longer see, feel, or think clearly. The world can seem to become chaotic or dim. People can feel more harsh, overwhelming, demanding, or hollow. We can start to lose our capacity to fully be creative, productive, or just take care of ourselves.
I work with people to help us understand how their biology, thought patterns, social environment, and life demands may have contributed to their current symptoms - and collaboratively develop strategies to help mitigate or overcome challenges. Sensory-based mindfulness and relaxation techniques, as well as cognitive reframing strategies such as CBT, are often useful. Lifestyle adaptations, self-care practices (e.g., diet, exercise, sleep), or adjunct medical services may be appropriate.
Let's move towards hope, peace, and reason to go beyond just existing.
